Poetry

may wasn't officially here until they were their fragrance carried on the ever present breeze campus seemed to burst with their sweet scent carrying me home, to my childhood the swing set in the backyard wearing the little purple flowers in our hair and stealing away sprigs in our futile attempts to bring the outdoors in sprays and songs and candles failed to capture their essence nothing can substitute for the hand-picked bouquet of grandma's lilacs on the table to usher in the summer season

Being social

This week has been interesting. Work has been a bit hectic and crazy as the students finish out finals week. I got very little sleep this weekend and Monday night I was in bed before 9pm, which is unheard of for me. Previously I'd been invited to a Young Adult church group event my one of my co-workers. I don't go to her church but there aren't really any other YA groups in Dubuque, so I've done some stuff with them before. I forced myself to RSVP on facebook. Usually after work I tend to be pretty anti-social. After having to be around/deal with people all day I tend to want to just be alone. I come across as a very social person in real life. Long story. Now I'm too tired to write a good blog. I'll do one tomorrow over lunch maybe. Sorry for this sad attempt, but I'll do a better job tomorrow. -B

Seems weird not to post

...so I will anyway. It'll be a quick one. Amy's on her way to Dubuque, should be here any minute. I just saw her at Easter, but that seems so long ago now. I just spent the last 3+ hours cleaning the apartment. Normally I hate cleaning (ask anyone), but I didn't mind it tonight, knowing Amy was coming and having the Brewers baseball game on. I finally gave in and paid for MLB premium audio, or whatever it's called. I'm a recent convert to baseball fandom, but I fell hard 2 years ago. The Brewers were what kept me company when Amy moved home for the summer and I was alone in the apartment. With 162 games in 180 days, it seemed like there was always a game on. When I moved to Dubuque, I was outside of the tv coverage area for them, and during last summer I could get the game on the radio sort of from across the river. This year not so much, so I sucked it up and bought the online radio package for $20. I think it will be a good investment. Amy just called from across...
