It's almost that time again! BEDA (Blog Every Day in April) is just around the corner. A few of us from last year's group are back and ready to roll for BEDA 4.0 Or in l33t speak BED4. Are you?? Manda is. And so is my friend Cara.
Don't know what BEDA is? It's a little thing lauded YA author (and TIME magazine twitter of note) Maureen Johnson started 3 years ago on a whim. And by whim, I mean...she made a comment on Twitter and someone said "hey me too!" and the next thing you know there are 400 of us crazies following her lead and blogging every day for an entire month.Half way through the month she offered to pair us up with other people for motivation. And that's where the original foursome came from. We were chosen by Maureen. She did a pretty good job pairing us up, and we've become friends and stayed in contact ever since.
Now we know it's a commitment, but it's fun! We won't hold you to anything, but if you want some motivation we're here. Last year I had a few lapses (we all did) so no shaming allowed. We'd love some company. If you're interested in joining us, feel free to comment with your name and blog address the bottom of this post and I'll add you to my BEDA blog roll in the BEDA tab at the top of my page! It's easier that way to find everyone that's participating. It can be at a personal blog or a work one. How much or how little you blog each day is up to you!
We realized the last few years that having someone else to read our blogs totally helped, as did having moral support from friends. The biggest challenge was coming up with something to write about! We'll once again do a theme/topic ideas. Instead of a calendar, we're doing a list of topic ideas. You pick what grabs you that day. You'll see some of our old standbys Things I Love Thursday and A Day in Haiku as well as some new ideas and prompts. We'll also put that in the BEDA tab at the top!! We can open and close the month with and introduction and a wrapup. This way, if we don't have anything to blog about, we've got a backup theme. They will be up by April 1 I promise! If you've got any other questions, feel free to leave me a comment here. Can't wait to see you all in April!
