Seeing/visiting friends
I have been absolutely spoiled since the first week in May. I got to see Amy and Emily already, and Gretchen is visiting this weekend. And then I run the reverse, and visiting Amy and Em on their turf the next two weekends. I really adore hanging out with my friends. Sometimes we're good about planning things to do, but a lot of time we just spend hanging out and chilling. I'm really lucky to have 2 of them so close (and Em who comes home often!).
Chameleon Circuit album and Julia Nunes albums
The Chameleon Circuit album, I've been waiting for since December when they announced it. I was afraid that after all these months it wouldn't be as good as I imagined it. I was so wrong. I've listened to it way too many times since Monday :) And the Julia Nunes stuff I got from Emily for my birthday and have been listening to it in my car ever since. It's great road trip music that I hope to put to good use in the next two weeks.
Going to sporting events
This goes back to last week too. (Not very good at this "this week" thing.) I got to go to a Milwaukee Brewers baseball game last weekend with my family. I haven't been to many baseball games in my life (6) as I've just become a fan 2 years ago. But I love going to sporting events in general. Wisconsin is known for their tailgating and rabidly enthusiastic fans, both of which I can heartily attest to. I have always been a huge sports fan, but sometimes I forget how much I love live games. After having access to season tickets for either college football or basketball for a vast portion of my life, it's been hard not to consistently go to them in Dubuque. It does make the ones I go to that much sweeter though.
Creative Writing
Three people this week have suggested I write something. One suggested I write a children's book. (So ain't gonna happen any time in the near the future). But one idea did intrigue me. Emma suggested I write up my college/grad school memoirs. I don't know about my memoirs, but I like the idea of doing some write-ups of my memories of Cornell, so I can remember them. I also really like the idea of doing them on a blog of some sort and inviting my college friends to add their own memories/stories. What do you think? Sound like a fun idea?
I think I saw the Brewers play the Giants once! I love baseball, it's one of my favourite American things. Not even necessarily for the game itself, just the summer breeze and the atmosphere and amazing hotdogs and churros. You guys really know your sporting event foods! haha.
ReplyDeleteI think the writing thing sounds like a great idea. Depends how sentimental you want it to be, it might be nice to hand write it? Either way I'd love to read it!
I like the idea of your writing your college memories, I'd definitely read them!
ReplyDeleteYay baseball! I really hope I have time/$ to get to a game this year! Especially before it gets too hot. Do you guys have fireworks at your games?
Glad you're enjoying the music and the fact that I come home often. Have a great weekend!
