Reasons Becky needs a Blackberry

Inevitably throughout the day you're bound to come up with a few questions you don't know the answers to. It's at times like those that I wish I had a Blackberry/iPhone. Here are a few of the questions that I could have answered today if I'd had one. Instead Gretchen and I had to remember the questions all day so we could look them up when we finally got back to the hotel (and my laptop) about 7pm.
  • Who did the Twins played June 10? (Kansas City Royals)
  • What was the name of the art installation of game board pieces in front of the municipal building? (It's Your Move)
  • What name is Ned short for? (Edward or Edmund)
  • What is Manet's first name? (Édouard)
  • Where is the closest pharmacy that isn't actually just a pharmacy? (Market and 8th)
  • Which Christ Church (Philly or Boston) is it in National Treasure? (Neither, it's Trinity Church in NYC)
We had a fabulous day today. The Big Bus Tour was a great way to get around the city. We saw the Liberty Bell, Philadelphia Museum of Fine Art, the Reading Market, Love Park, and the Franklin Institute. And the food that accompanied the day was equally amazing! :) A bit of sunburn for the both of us. Tomorrow's docket includes the Twins/Phillies game, Independence Hall, the National Mint, and Constitution Hall!

April weekends

I just solidified plans for this weekend today when it hit me: my April weekends are all over the place, and well so very me. Keeping with my new reality of being around Dubuque much more often than I have in the past, I'll be here for 3 of the 4 weekends. Ok, and by here I mean mostly here. I'll explain below. I feel like it's only fair I do a little bit of an intro for my new BEDA buddies: Christina , Autumn , and Nicola . For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, a bunch (read over 200) of us participating in Blog Every Day in April signed up to have Maureen Johnson (the Churchill of BEDA as Alex Day called her) to match us up with BEDA buddies for moral support for the rest of the month. What we do with these buddies is up to us. I'm not quite sure yet what we'll do, if anything other than comment on each other's blogs. But I feel like I do the least on my blog to give an idea of who I am. So this post is hoping to rectify that. So here goes! I'm a midwestern born and bred. Booklist

I found this in my RSS feed this morning and thought it was a nice way to start the day. It is a list created by the National Endowment for the Arts, and a blogger writes that they claim most American adults have read only six of these hundred books. I've read 23, but about half have been for school; however, some of those I chose to read for a class assignment. :) Here’s what you do: 1) Look at the list and bold those you have read. 2) Italicize those you intend to read. 3) Underline the books you LOVE.
