At the beginning of the year, I set a resolution to blog 3 times a week. I set resolutions every year but I rarely keep up with them beyond March. But here it is July 31 and I've managed to stay true to it. I think part of it is knowing it's public. Not that any of you out there are going to call me out on it, but I think just the simple fact there is someone else out there expecting it really does help.
Another thing I've managed to do since January is not buy any bread at the grocery store. I laughed when I got the bread cookbook for Christmas and it said it would change your life. I mean I didn't buy bread every week at the grocery store, but I also didn't eat a lot of bread because it would go bad before I could finish it. Now I eat bread all the time and bake it all myself. I've done some experimenting with the recipes I liked and can make a bunch of loaves I really like. Just ask my coworkers, they've gotten the good end of that deal too :)
One thing I haven't really kept up with is the whole monthly resolutions. I'm thinking it's time to pick that back up again. Sadly Maureen isn't doing BEDA this August, and I don't really think I can mentally handle that this month anyway. However I feel like I should do something. I'm thinking the no fast food thing might not be a bad idea again. I liked Autumn and Christina's no sweets idea, but I'm not sure I can handle August without popsicle which I would categorize as sweets. So no fast food or Panera sounds like a great way to get back on the horse :) So that's the new resolution. My goal is also to continue posting pieces of the new untitled short story each week. I didn't post last week, but I need some encouragement in that area to keep up with it.

You could tailor the no sweets thing to your needs. Like do just no chocolate or exclude frozen items, something like that. I've done this three times now, and the first time I didn't even have chocolate milk, and it was miserable. So for me chocolate milk was an exception.
