You didn't think that was coming did you? I know that I promised a rant about getting to work. And you'll get it. Just not today. Today I'm gonna talk about a pair of cool new gloves I got. I mentioned them to Christina on twitter the other day. They're grey elbow length fingerless gloves with ruffles and a bow. They're so freaking cute. I wore them under a heavy red cardigan sweater. Our reference desk gets a little cool during the winter and my hands tend to freeze. My solution at home (to the same problem) has been to cut the fingertips out of those cheap 2 pair for a dollar gloves. Not exactly the most professional way to do it. My mom and sister found these new gloves at Aldo. I love them!! They totally keep my hands warm as well as my forearms without having to wear 2 layers of long sleeves!

I told Christina I'd get her a picture. So here it is.


Aren't they adorable? Now I just need them in a few more colors.

    I must say I truly adore these. In fact, our library has a similar chilly problem and I may need to investigate into such gloves. Aldo you say? Hmmm....

    It's like you've already done my shopping for me, I just need to purchase them now.

I just solidified plans for this weekend today when it hit me: my April weekends are all over the place, and well so very me. Keeping with my new reality of being around Dubuque much more often than I have in the past, I'll be here for 3 of the 4 weekends. Ok, and by here I mean mostly here. I'll explain below. I feel like it's only fair I do a little bit of an intro for my new BEDA buddies: Christina , Autumn , and Nicola . For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, a bunch (read over 200) of us participating in Blog Every Day in April signed up to have Maureen Johnson (the Churchill of BEDA as Alex Day called her) to match us up with BEDA buddies for moral support for the rest of the month. What we do with these buddies is up to us. I'm not quite sure yet what we'll do, if anything other than comment on each other's blogs. But I feel like I do the least on my blog to give an idea of who I am. So this post is hoping to rectify that. So here goes! I'm a midwestern born and bred. At 24, I've never lived more than 200 miles (a 3 hour drive) from the city I was born in. Booklist

I found this in my RSS feed this morning and thought it was a nice way to start the day. It is a list created by the National Endowment for the Arts, and a blogger writes that they claim most American adults have read only six of these hundred books. I've read 23, but about half have been for school; however, some of those I chose to read for a class assignment. :) Here’s what you do: 1) Look at the list and bold those you have read. 2) Italicize those you intend to read. 3) Underline the books you LOVE.
